Teamed up Terpenes

These aromatic compounds create the signature scent of some of your favorite plants and produce-pine, lavender, citrus, rosemary and more. The cannabis plant is packed with a high concentration of terpenes that boost its therapeutic profile.

The sweet smell of recovery

We’ve unpacked the many ways that cannabinoids team up to deliver recovery results, but there is another class of compounds found in cannabis that play just as important a role in recovery. Terpenes are an aromatic compound found in high concentration within the cannabis plant, and are responsible for its wide-range of tastes and aromas.

Whether you’ve heard of the term Terpene or not, you interact with these organic compounds everyday. Terpenes are not unique to cannabis and are common in most vegetables and herbs. In fact, they create the signature scent of some of your favorite plants and produce - pine, lavender, citrus, rosemary and more. In addition to their unique scent and flavor, research indicates that terpenes play a crucial synergistic role, teaming up with cannabinoids like CBD or THC for a maximized therapeutic effect.

Our mvp scents

Let’s meet some of Team Mendi’s favorite Terpenes featured in our Core and Base line products:

LINALOOL

This is a natural terpene that is found in abundance in the lavender plant – any product that has a fresh lavender scent is likely very high in linalool. It has properties known to promote mood balancing and reduce stress and anxiety. When applied topically, it works as a great natural remedy for acne and other skin conditions.

Linalool is found in our Core Bath Salts

MYRCENE

Myrcene is probably the most common cannabis terpene – it has a really earthy smell, but when mixed with other plant oils it gives off a sweeter fragrance, similar to blueberries. It is known to be an excellent muscle relaxer and sedative for deeper sleep. It has properties that also promote a reduction in pain and inflammation.

Mercene is found in our Core CreamCore Night Tinctures, and Core Bath Salts

LEMONENE

This is the “citrusy” terpene. It has properties that promote an energized mood and helps topical products absorb into the deepest layers of your skin. Additionally, clinical research has suggested it has great antibacterial and antifungal properties. It can be used in foods and beverages as a natural flavoring.

Limonene is found in our Core and Base Day Tinctures

BETA-CARYOPHYLLENE

This terpenoid is found naturally in many edible herbs like oregano and black pepper. Because of its known ability to bind to CB2 receptors in the immune system, it is believed to have synergistic roles in managing inflammation and autoimmune conditions.

Beta-caryophyllene is part of Mendi’s proprietary blend and is found in almost all of our products, including Core and Base Day Tincture and Night TinctureBase Massage Oil and Core Bath Salts
