CBD pain relief Massage Oil Product Benefits
Consumers use CBD for a lot of different reasons, but the vast majority use CBD products for pain relief– both acute and chronic. There’s very promising evidence and research that has been conducted over the years, and still ongoing, showing the pain-relieving effects of CBD. This is what we know so far, particularly as CBD aids in menstrual cramps.
While you can still opt to use over-the-counter NSAIDs and less natural meds, like ibuprofens, Tylenol, Advil, etc. to combat the discomforts of menstrual unpleasantries, many people are opting for healthier alternatives to manage their pain. CBD a natural solution known to help reduce inflammation and chronic pain, thus it can also help reduce period-related symptoms like abdominal pain, abdominal, leg and lower back soreness, headaches and sore breasts.
CBD and all other cannabinoids produce effects that positively support a natural, sell-signaling system in the human body known as the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which helps to keep the body in balance. CBD and other cannabinoids help to regulate functions like reducing stress and anxiety, pain relief, and promoting better sleep. Research shows that CBD links with this system by interacting with many tiny cells– CB1 and CB2 receptors.
CBD supports your existing ECS by interacting with the enzyme (FAAH) that breaks down anandamide. Anandamide is a natural endocannabinoid found in the body that helps with pain relief and anxiety relief. These interactions create anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects that help with pain management and mood. CBD oil is also known to benefit people suffering from chronic pain, such as back pain and joint discomfort, as well as women suffering from menstrual pain.
In 2019, a study was conducted with women suffering from endometriosis and using self-rated cannabis or CBD oil to relieve pain, compared to conventional medicines. The women were also participating in physical activities such as yoga and stretching. The survey results did suggest that CBD alone can relieve menstrual pain and inflammation. Properties found in hemp CBD oil are known to help other period-related symptoms and uncomfortable side effects.
With that said, THC specifically helps relieve pain by interacting with the cell signaling system responsible for alerting our brains when we’re experiencing pain. Thus, consuming full spectrum products (<0.3% THC) are thought to provide more relief than No THC products during the menstrual cycle.
More evidence is needed to determine all of the therapeutic potential of CBD and to determine the safe and most effective dosages for pain management, chronic pain, headaches and mood relief during your menstrual cycle.
In saying that, we suggest using our No THC Massage Oil for deep muscle and tension relief during those cramp, painful menstrual days.
